Configuring self-service timesheets

Before your organisation can start to use self-service timesheets, you need to configure the following in Admin:

  • Employee and line manager profiles and roles in Users, Profiles and Roles, to allow access to the Timesheets screen in HR

  • Attendance categories that you want to include on timesheets

  • Authorisation routes for timesheet approval. You can use authorisation routes to send timesheets from different groups of employees and/or hierarchy locations to different approvers

The Timesheets screen in HR is a read-only view of the data held in Self Service Timesheets and cannot be updated. However, if you click View beside an entry on the Timesheets screen, you will then see the corresponding self-service timesheet, which can be edited. Line managers can access timesheets for their direct reports in the same way, unless you restrict their access to the Timesheets screen in Profiles.
