Clients and contact management
All clients are contacts but not all contacts are clients
At its core, IRIS Practice Engine is a contact database. The starting point for any record in the system is a contact record. A client is a contact with additional engagement details.
There is a legal requirement for accountancy practices in that they cannot carry out work for people or businesses without an agreed letter of engagement, completion of money laundering checks, company confirmation statements and GDPR consent.
We add all people and businesses onto IRIS Practice Engine as contacts in the first instance and then add additional engagement information, services, and jobs to turn the required record into a client.
You can also add prospects who are people you want to record because they may potentially become clients and use opportunities to identify work that could be potentially carried out.
