Set up MyCascade

This page helps you set up your IRIS Cascade system to integrate with the self-service app, IRIS Cascade.

You must complete all setup options for your self-service app to work correctly.

Authorisation routes

An Authorisation Route is required to send the absence requests to an authoriser. You can add a new route or edit and existing one, if required.

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Select Authorisation Routes.

 

When setting up the new authorisation route, please be sure to select the screen SELF SERVICE ATTENDANCE. The 'screen' is the link between MyCascade and Cascade.

Normally an authorisation would be sent to the [Employee's Line Manager] but can be sent to anyone using the options in the authorisation route.

Profiles

<<Employee>

Profiles need adjusting to allow requests to be sent and authorised. For example, for an employee > line manager relationship, the <<Employee>> profile needs the Self Service Attendance screen enabling and set to By Request.

If you use another named profile for your employees, you will need to adjust this instead.

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Select Users, Profiles and Roles.

  3. Select Profiles.

  4. Select the employee profile and select Data Screens.

  5. In the list find SELF SERVICE ATTENDANCE and select the Show? column so it displays the green tick icon.

  6. Select the Can Update? column so it displays By Request.

<<Line manager>>

The line manager profile needs adjusting in the same way, but this time, select Directly. This is to allow the authoriser the correct access to deal with any requests.

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Select Users, Profiles and Roles.

  3. Select Profiles.

  4. Select the line manager profile and select Data Screens.

  5. In the list find SELF SERVICE ATTENDANCE and select the Show? column so it displays the green tick icon.

  6. Select the Can Update? column so it displays Directly.

Attendance categories

Before you start using MyCascade, you need to decide which absence categories you want your employees to request.

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Select Attendance and Calendars.

  3. Select Attendance Categories.

  4. Select the attendance category from the Categories list.

  5. Select Update from Category Properties.

  6. Select Show in Self Service.

  7. Select Save.

  8. You can enable any number of categories. Repeat steps 4 to 7 for each category you want to make available in MyCascade.

If the a category has Requires Entitlement selected, the remaining entitlement will display on the absence booking form when booking the absence.

If all the above have been set up but the ability to request an absence still isn't visible, please check the employee has the correct entitlement set up.
