IRIS Networx: System optimisation project

Updated 20 March 2024

In today's continuously growing, fast-paced digital environment, the efficiency and reliability of our systems are paramount to delivering the high-quality service you expect. System optimisation is not just an IT initiative; it's a strategic business move that underpins our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

We understand that your recruitment software plays a central role in business operations, from streamlining your recruitment processes, enhancing candidate quality and broadening your talent pools; to data-driven decision making in your hiring processes and ensuring your practises are compatible with risk management and GDPR compliance.

As part of our commitment to providing you with exceptional service and performance, we have initiated a comprehensive system optimisation project.

Background

This pivotal project began with an in-depth investigation phase throughout December and January, where our dedicated teams began meticulously analysing various aspects of our system to identify areas for improvement.

We also spoke with many of our customer base, to carefully gather all feedback relating to improvements we can make to our system performance; ensuring that we tackled key areas of the software that our clients were experiencing specific issues with.

We’re thrilled to be able to share this update with you, which will detail all progress made by the development team following this investigation, and any future road-map items that will assist us in using this optimisation project to propel IRIS Networx into the next stage of its evolution.

Recent improvements

December 2023

Throughout December, we analysed the system's infrastructure and increased hardware resources. This strategic enhancement was geared towards fortifying the system's resilience during periods of heightened activity.

In addition to bolstering resources, we diligently monitored the system and gathered information on areas where processing times were elongated, or usage was particularly intense. The data amassed during this scrutiny formed the basis of our upcoming initiatives.

January 2024

Throughout January, our engineers focused on:

  • Analysing our infrastructure and server usage.

  • Implementing data analysis tools, to track bottlenecks and resource heavy areas.

  • Identifying key optimisation areas across the system.

February 2024

  • Dashboard loading times: Users will now experience a faster loading time for the default Dashboard in the new design. We optimised our backend processes and data handling, ensuring that the information you need is available quicker than ever before.

  • Enhanced system performance: As well as improving our backend processes, we've also significantly optimised reporting areas to reduce blocking wait times, and enhanced our data handling capabilities to ensure a smoother, more efficient experience across the board.

March 2024

  • We have optimised our search functionality in IRIS Networx; specifically, the search ability pertaining to Candidates and Vacancies.

  • We have also improved the loading times of our Summary pages, including New Responses and Offers in Progress.

What's next?

Our work doesn't stop here, we are continuing to improve IRIS Networx by working on further refinements to system-wide processes that will improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Please keep checking back on this page, as we will be continuously updating this with every new release.

Your involvement & feedback

Making sure IRIS Networx meets, and exceeds, your performance and processing expectations is a continuous journey. Your feedback is instrumental to help us decide on initiatives that will make a difference for you and your organisation.

We welcome your feedback on what’s working well in IRIS Networx and where we can make a difference.

Experiencing performance issues?

If you regularly experience slow performance, please raise a support ticket. It's important to provide as much detail as possible, including:

  • Which users are impacted.

  • The date and time you experienced the issue.

  • What the users were doing, or trying to do, and in what order.

  • What areas or features were running slowly.

  • Examples or test cases to demonstrate the problem.

Recommendations

If you're experiencing performance issues, we suggest you:

  • Ensure that you are using our New design, rather than the Old Design.

  • Regularly review your reports and stop any that are no longer needed.

  • Run complex queries and reports out of hours.

  • Archive unwanted file and document attachments.

  • Perform regular data cleansing to adhere to GDPR and increase the performance of your database by removing unwanted or duplicated data.

We'll continue to provide updates with more information as it becomes available.

Please be assured that work will continue to meet your needs of highly demanding and data-intensive business workloads, at scale, with data privacy and security engineering at the heart of all product development.

Thank you for your continued custom, patience, and understanding. We are committed to ensuring IRIS Networx performs at its very best to enable your business success.

Many thanks,

The IRIS Networx product team.
