Reset two-factor authentication

This is an administrative function only. Only users with certain permissions can perform these tasks.

2FA may need to be reset if:

  • The user needs to set up a new device and is unable to transfer the account over.

  • The user's authenticator app is not working.

Once 2FA is enabled and the user has set up their authenticator app, the Reset Two-Factor Authentication action will be available in Users.

To reset 2FA:

  1. In Users, find the user, and select Reset Two-Factor Authentication.

  2. A message will be displayed, select OK.

When the user next logs in, they will receive the prompt to set up an authenticator app again.

Users should follow any guidance from their current authenticator app to remove the old account before setting up a new one.
