Deal with Invalid Contact Details

If IRIS Reach is unable to deliver a message after 3 consecutive attempts, the contact details for theperson A parent, legal guardian, carer, or someone responsible for a student. are marked as invalid.

Contacts are defined a person stored in your Management Information System (MIS) who are either selected as Priority 1 or having Parental Responsibility. For more information, go to Use Contact Details for Communications.

  1. Select Data Management > Invalid Numbers.
  2. The Data Management - Invalid Number page, with the details of students linked to a person with invalid contact details and the date the message Last Failed to send are displayed.
  3. You can send an email or letter to the person, requesting they contact your organisation A school, multi-academy trust (MAT), single academy trust (SAT), club, nursery or organisation that uses the software. to update their details, or remove their details from IRIS Reach. If a letter has been sent, the date is displayed in Last Letter.

    If the person has provided new contact details, or when you receive a response to the email or letter requesting updated details, you need to correct the details in your Management Information System (MIS). Updates made to your MIS are updated overnight during the synchronisation with IRIS Reach.

Remove Invalid Contact Details

Invalid contact details can be removed from IRIS Reach if you are sure that the number is incorrect and up to date.

Select Remove adjacent to the Student Name for the Number you want to remove. Alternatively, select Clear ALL Invalid Numbers to remove all details displayed.

Request Updated Contact Details

If you want to request updated contact details from the person, you can send an email or letter.

Enter a student name in Search or select an option from Show All Years, then select Filter by Year to display details for specific students.

  1. Select the Select check box adjacent to the Student Name.

  2. Select Send Email or Send Letter Automatically creates and downloads a PDF version of the message..
