Data Management Overview

Keeping on top of the data in IRIS Reach is essential to its effective use. Data is synchronised from your Management Information System (MIS) overnight. The quality of the data in IRIS Reach is a reflection of the quality of data in your MIS.

You can use the Data Management area in IRIS Reach to produce a variety of lists, which help to identify missing or invalid data. In addition, the Student Data Summary table on the Dashboard provides an overview of the data held in your MIS. For more information, go to Dashboard Overview.

Items with red exclamation icons have data anomalies therefore require attention. Items with green tick icons identify healthy data. The number of records affected is displayed for each line. Numbers shown in blue are hyperlinks, which when clicked, display more detail.

The Data Management menu options provide access to lists to help identify data that is missing or invalid, which allows you to send applicable emails, letters, or messages to request the missing or correct data. This information needs to be entered in your MIS, then imported to IRIS Reach when the data is synchronised overnight. Data management lists are used to manage the data in IRIS Reach.
