Payment Types Overview

The payment options available to you are set up when the IRIS ParentMail is installed. If you want to add or remove a payment option, please contact us via Live Chat or log a support ticket (a Service Cloud account is required).

The following payment types are available:

  • Debit/Credit Card — Available by default, pay using any major debit or credit card.
  • PayPal — Pay securely using a PayPal account.
  • PayCash — Generates a barcode for an item. The barcode can either be printed or stored on a phone, then taken to the nearest PayPoint machine for payment by cash or debit card. The minimum transaction for a PayPoint payment is £5. The maxmum transaction is set by the store. Payments made using PayPoint are processed between 3-5pm the day after the payment is made.
  • PayPoint (Barcodes)organisation A school, multi-academy trust (MAT), single academy trust (SAT), club, nursery or organisation that uses the software. can generate a barcode, which can be printed or emailed. The barcode can be taken to the nearest PayPoint machine for payment by cash or debit card. The minimum transaction for a PayPoint payment is £5. The maxmum transaction is £149.99. Payments made using PayPoint are processed between 3-5pm the day after the payment is made.

Minimum Transaction Charge

In exchange for providing an online payments service IRIS PlusPay calculate our fee at a transaction level. In accordance with HMRC guidelines, we apply a 20% VAT charge at a transaction level. We are also required by HMRC to apply a minimum VAT per transaction of £0.01.

In an effort to provide absolute clarity to your organisation(as we know just how difficult it can be to reconcile where rounding up or down to the nearest pence is required) we implemented a minimum transaction charge of 5 pence from 1st August 2017. The aim is to deal with situations where small value payment items (under £5) result in the calculated VAT amounting to a fraction of a pence.

This only affects transactions that are under the value of £5 and it is highly unlikely any difference in terms of money is noticed.
