Manage User Type Permissions

User type permissions determine how users assigned to the user type can use IRIS ParentMail. You can manage permissions for a user type to enable or disable actions the user type can perform within the product.

You should ensure that permissions enabled for user types are managed carefully so that user types only have access to functions they require within IRIS ParentMail.

Changes made to user type permissions are only applied to new users assigned to the user type. Existing users continue to have the permissions applied for the user type when they were first assigned. You can change the permissions for a user already assigned to the user type from their user details.

  1. Go to Users > Type Permissions.
  2. Select the required user from the Select A User Type drop-down list.
  3. A warning message is displayed. To continue to change the permissions for a user type, select Yes.

  4. Select the permissions type you want to assign, for example, Users to select all the permissions for the permission type.

To remove permissions, clear any permissions you do not want to assign to the user type.

Alternatively, select Show from the permission type panel, then select the required permissions.

  5. When you have applied the required permissions for the permission types, select Save.
