Setting the Frequency of Enforced Password Changes

For each user group in the system, you can specify the number of days (up to 127) when a password should expire, forcing the user to change their password. It is also possible to set the number of days prior to expiry, that the user is warned.

  1. Go to Maintenance, then select User Groups from the menu.
  2. The User Group Maintenance window displays with all existing user groups in the left-hand panel. Select the required user group. Group details are displayed in the General tab.
  3. Select EDIT. Available fields are then made editable. Edit the number of days before the password should expire for all members of this group. This defaults to 0 (meaning the password does not expire) and can be set up to 127 days.
  4. Edit the number of days before the password is due to expire, where a warning is displayed, for example, 4. This defaults to 0 (meaning no warning is provided) and can be set up to 127 days.
  5. Once the required edits have been made, select SAVE.
