Hiding Unwanted Nominals

CUSTADMIN access only

It is good practice to hide nominals that you do not want to be used. This not only prevents access, but also shortens the list of nominals that can be selected. Nominals are hidden by selecting the NO_ACCESS security role.

Hidden nominals remain visible to the person within your establishment/organisation who administers your system, i.e. has a CUSTADMIN login.

Any transactions posted to these nominals are no longer visible on a trial balance or a report to anyone who does not have the NO_ACCESS security role.

  1. Select Maintenance, then select Nominals from the menu.
  2. The Nominal Maintenance window is displayed. Select the required nominal from the left-hand panel, select the Security tab, then select EDIT. Editable fields are then enabled.
  3. Select Drill (...) in each of the security fields , as shown in the following graphic .
  4. The Select a role for Nominal window is displayed. Double select to select NO_ACCESS.
  5. When the security role has been changed for View, Modify, Post, and Add ledger, select SAVE to apply the changes.
