Set up online filing passwords

You can store your HMRC and Companies House credentials here to allow tax return and account submissions without the need to log in separately. You need at least one set of credentials in order to file online.

  1. From the cog icon on the top menu, select Settings.

  2. Select Online Filing Passwords.

Adding HMRC credentials

  1. Select Add HMRC credentials.

  2. Enter your User ID and Password.

  3. Select which types of submissions these credentials are to be used for.

  4. You can also add an optional Email address to receive receipts of your submissions.

  5. Select Save changes.

This option is not be available if the maximum number of credentials have already been added, or if you do not have sufficient permissions to modify credentials.

Adding Companies House credentials

To file accounts electronically with Companies House, apply to Companies House to be a presenter. See here for additional information.

  1. Select Add Companies House credentials.

  2. Enter the Presenter ID and Presenter authentication code.

  3. Select Save changes.

This option is not available if the maximum number of credentials have already been added, or if you do not have sufficient permissions to modify credentials.

To modify or delete credentials, select the credential you wish to amend / delete and either Save amended changes or select Delete credentials.

Passwords are encrypted when stored and cannot be displayed. When editing credentials, leave the password field blank unless you wish to change the password.
