Lock fields

Normally in Senta, all fields can be seen by all users in the practice. This open access isn't always desirable. For example, you may wish to hide confidential client data, fees or fee-split arrangements, and so on, so that only appropriate staff within the practice can see the information.

To hide information, administrator users can lock fields, i.e. make them only visible to certain users.

Currently users within a practice are in one of three roles, which reflects the type of work they do within a practice:

  • Practice user

  • Account manager

  • Practice manager

Any user may also be an administrator, which allows them to add & remove users, update practice settings, configure Jobs, etc.

Fields can be locked to hide them for these various staff roles.

Locking a field

N.b. Fields can only be locked by users who are administrators.

  1. To lock or unlock a field, see the Security tab In Settings > General Settings.

  2. Select Add field lock and then choose the field you would like to lock. Next, choose the users who have access to this field .

  3. Finally, select Save.

Unlocking a field

To unlock a field, just click the dustbin against the field you wish to unlock. Once you Save, the field will be available to all users again.

IP restrict option

To add another layer of security, lower the risk of attack and prevent unauthorised access, you can turn on the IP restrict option.

You can turn this feature on by going to Settings > General settings > Extras.

Restricting the IP address will prevent any unknown devices singing in to your Senta work space. Each device has its own unique IP address that can be obtained from the device settings.

Once the IP restrict option has been applied by the support team, the Practice Manager will be able to select to allow sign-in from any IP address or to restrict sign-in to certain IP addresses. The allowed IP addresses list can be edited by going to Settings > General settings > Security > Access restrictions.

Anyone trying to access the site from an IP address that is not in the list of allowed IP addresses will be redirected to an access denied page with the message "Your address is not in the list of allowed IP addresses".

Exceptions

Administrators can sign in from anywhere and will not be restricted by IP addresses.

Any integrations you enable will not be restricted by IP addresses and will be able to connect even after you have added IP addresses.

Admin only widget restriction

The admin only widget restriction allows you to limit the dashboard of those with practice user level permissions to 3 widgets, without the possibility of them editing this view.

Date, time and currency format display change

To change the format in which the date or time is displayed in Senta, go to Settings > General settings > Display tab.

From here you can select your preferred date and time format.

To change the currency, delete the pound sign and type in or copy in the desired currency symbol.

How to set your timezone

You can change your timezone by going into the General settings and then choosing the Display tab.

Towards the bottom of the page you will see the Timezone field. You can edit the Timezone field by clicking on the three dots, once you do, you should be able to see a pop up window that will allow you to select your timezone.

You can either scroll up and down the list and select your timezone manually. Click OK to confirm and Save to save changes.
