PTP Platform Network Installation

Introduction

The PTP Platform suite consists of:

• PTP Tax Return

• PTP Partnership Return

• PTP Trust Return

• PTP CT Platform

• You do not need to have purchased all four programs as each will run independently of the others.
  

New Installations

1. Visit the download webpage http://www.iris.co.uk/support/ptp-software-support/

2. Select the Downloads link.

3. Select the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 link on the Notes Column. When prompted select the Save option.

4. Select Desktop then Save again.

5. Next select the PTP Platform Incl Tax, Partnership, Trust and CT link on the New installation. When prompted select the Save option.

6. Select Desktop then select Save again.

7. You must have administrative access rights to install the PTP Platform suite. If you do not have the necessary access rights you will need to seek assistance from your own IT support.

Before starting the PTP Platform installation the Microsoft  .Net framework 4.0 must be installed and available; If you do not have .Net 4.0 installed please follow the instructions below.

Installing .NET Framework 4.0

1. Locate the file called dotNetFX40_Full_x86_x64.exe double-click to start the installation process.

The Installer will extract the files:

2. Select I have read and accept the license terms option and click Install.

3. Once complete, click Finish.

4. Click Restart Now to restart the computer.

Installing PTP Platform

1. Locate the file called PTPPlatform201X*FX_vX*.XX (X* = the Year/Version being installed) double-click to start the installation process.

2. If prompted click Run.

3. Click OK.

4. Click Setup.

5. Click Next.

6. Select Next.

7. Click Next.

8. Select the Licence Agreement option and click Next.

9. Enter the Customer Details, for example, ISG-123456 and click Next.

10. Click Next.

11. Click Next.

12. Click Install.

13. Click Finish.

• Once the installation is complete you need to copy the PTPData folder to the network share location where all user have access to. The default path to the PTPData folder is: C:\PTP\PTPData

The following information will now allow you to configure PTP to access the PTP Data on the network shared location:

1. Open PTP Launcher and select Tax Platform.

2. Click the Spanner icon.

3. Select the Configuration tab and click Change.

4. Click the magnifying glass.

5. Browse to the Platform.mdb file on the network share location

6. Select Update.

7. Click OK.

Registration

To start any of the PTP Platform products click Start, All Programs, PTP Software and select the product name from the list (alternatively you could use the desktop shortcuts). Click the Spanner icon in the main toolbar, select the Registration tab and enter the details from your registration document(s).

• As part of any new installation to a new PC if you require access to previous year’s tax info you will need to download and install the PTP Earlier Years software
