How to send an amended Self Assessment Tax Return online

Introduction

If a Self Assessment Tax Return has already been submitted successfully online and an amendment is required. An amended Electronic Tax Return can be prepared and submitted via IRIS as follows:

  1. Log on to IRIS Personal Tax and select the client.

  2. From the Administration menu, select Edit Tax Return Dates.

  3. Remove the Date of acknowledgement, click OK.

  4. From the Reports menu, select Electronic Tax Return.

  5. Select Amended from within the Electronic Tax Return Options screen:


  6. The following warning message will be generated:


  7. Click OK to confirm that an amended return should be generated.

  8. Transmit the Tax Return as normal.
