How to link Docs to a network scanner

Introduction

In order to allow documents to be sent from network scanners to IRIS Docs, a link must be setup from the scanner/multi function device to a network folder.

Once the items are being sent to network folders, Docs can be configured to monitor the network folder and put the files into specified in-trays.

 

In order to setup these links:

  1. Contact the IT provider to setup scanner/multi function device to scan to a specified network folder.

  2. Sign into IRIS Docs as a user with Administration access.

  3. Click Administration.

  4. Expand DPE and select Create a net scan path.

  5. Enter the title, for example, the users name, in the folder to watch enter the UNC path of the folder where the scans are being sent. It is also advised to select Show feedback in process monitor to assist with troubleshooting in this area.

  6. Select the Destination tab, from the drop-down list select the user or group in-tray you want the items to be sent to.

  7. The above steps will need to be repeated for each user.
